Laeken cemetery
Also known as the Père Lachaise of Laeken, the Laeken cemetery is the burial place of some of Belgian’s most important families and famous artists. It is best known, amongst others, for the heart that shapes every year at Summer solstice in one of the tombs, the statue of Rodin’s thinker on another tomb, the crypt of opera singer Marie Malibran, and its underground galleries – a unique phenomenon in cisalpine Europe, the major Catholic nobility, important families and some famous artists.
